Because there are family members reading this little site now (and have been for a while).

However, I will say that I was pleasantly surprised at how "normal" the two retail establishments I visited this evening were. Neither felt crowded, featured those annoying bell ringers, and the checkout lines were minimal.

Maybe I should have waited a few more days... :-)

Giftmas gifts? Not sure if it's a mistake, but either way, it describes the holiday alot better than Christmas does, nowadays...but let's not get into that.

I went to Circuit City and Pier One yesterday (Circuit City was more for personal reasons - got a real good price on a TV card :) ) and it was the same way - not too crowded, and no bellringers. Then I went to Wal-Mart...the crowds were manigable, but I can't stand those bellringers (yes, I know they're for charity...maybe if we all send enough money in before the holidays, they'll stop)...oh, and they're never Santa's around here. I have never seen a Santa bellringer.

I went to Pier One again today (to return what I bought yesterday...), and it was even better...took about 5 minutes for a return. I also went by Books-A-Million (the only big bookstore in town), which was more crowded than usual, but not outrageously so. And on the upside, I now have a copy of Mandrake 10.1 (gotta love those UK magazines).

Alrighty, I'm done. :)
