I have no idea how or why, but I woke up at 5:00am on the dot today with no assistance from an alarm clock. Mind you, this is a full hour earlier than I normally get up. This is a mildly troubling development.

On the plus side, I can read a bit more of Knoppix Hacks, which arrived yesterday, before getting read to trek up to the office. It's either that or write the rant about how we never go after the good and obvious ideas anymore. (Don't ask me how long we've been "discussing" those internally.)

You must be lucky today. Late night or early morning are best time to work.

I have tried hundreds of time to get up early in the morning to do some important hacks but always end up in bed again :)

For sure that sucks. I have to be up at 4am a couple days a week for the trek into D.C. That's bad enough, but when I wake up at 4am when I don't have to get up at that time really sucks. You know that the moment you roll over to fall back asleep you'll miss the actual time to get up.

Careful you don't make a habit out of it! For the last 5 years I got through periods (1-2 months) of waking up somewhere between 3 - 5am and not being able to go back to sleep. At 3am it is WAY too early to get up for anything, however 5am is a good time as you can see the sun rise.

That's funny, because today i woke up 3 hours later than I ussualy do. Nearly missed lunch. Again, without the aid of an alarm clock, zing!

best alarm clock EVER ?

your own daughter. Havent had a lie in on Sunday for over 2 years now. And having your sibling waking you up with "daddy daddy - work.. work time.." is just heart breaking - you just GOTTA wake up when that happens.
