Oh, oh, oh
For the longest time
Oh, oh, oh
For the longest time
If you said goodbye to me tonight
There would still be music left to write
What else could I do
I'm so inspired by you
That hasn't happened for the longest time

Once I thought my innocence was gone
Now I know that happiness goes on
That's where you found me
When you put your arms around me
I haven't been there for the longest time

Oh, oh, oh
For the longest time
Oh, oh, oh
For the longest
I'm that voice you're hearing in the hall
And the greatest miracle of all
Is how I need you
And how you needed me too
That hasn't happened for the longest time

Maybe this won't last very long
But you feel so right
And I could be wrong
Maybe I've been hoping too hard
But I've gone this far
And it's more than I hoped for

Who knows how much further we'll go on
Maybe I'll be sorry when you're gone
I'll take my chances
I forgot how nice romance is
I haven't been there for the longest time

I had second thoughts at the start
I said to myself
Hold on to your heart
Now I know the woman that you are
You're wonderful so far
And it's more than I hoped for

I don't care what consequence it brings
I have been a fool for lesser things
I want you so bad
I think you ought to know that
I intend to hold you for the longest time

That brings back unhappy memories of being forced to listen to my father singing in an official S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. barber shop quartet. Thanks :(

This is bloody spooky - I've been listening to this song almost non-stop for 2 days now. I just can't get over how cool acapella can be.

it's "oh no" kasia, because it is such a rotten song. we all know that Rush's "Closer to the Heart" would have been a much better choice!

"better choice"?

WTF?!

I was driving home from work last night in a good mood (much progress on a problem at work) and heard the song. I thought, "I don't hear this often enough. I like it. Maybe this should be my blog entry today. I have nothing interesting to say otherwise."

Now I've seen 3 types of reasponses, both public and private:

1: Great song!
2: Yuck! Why'd you remind me?
3: This means something. Let's figure out what...

But if you want to spend time trying to analyze me, the song, and anything else that may or may not be going on in my life or mind, feel free to spend your time doing so. I certainly cannot stop you. :-)

never mind the fact that you usually don't post personal shit here. but i think it's just a by-product of your celebrity and cult icon status that your fans will make conjectures as to your personal life.

however, having once been your roommate, i think i might be able to make more educated guesses ;)

Don't take it personally Jeremy, my "yuck" was more of a spoof on Simon than on you.

This brings back soooo many memories of watching 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego'... My husband picked this as the song for our first dance at our wedding. :)
