Meh. I bought one earlier this year, and while it is a great little toy, I discovered I had no practical use for it after a month and eBay'd it. You will most certainly want to install OpenZaurus on it if you do purchase one. It is a much better system than the default Sharp install. The real kicker for me was Opie's ability to rotate the screen all four ways. Rotating the screen horizontally made it much easier to read the news in Konqueror whilst on the can.
I got me a Zaurus SL-5500 from Ebay for US$229 and I'm loving it.
Make sure you get the Semsons CF to PCMCIA adapter so you can use your existing PC Cards. (see http://www.semsons.com/comflastopcc.html)
I have OpenZaurus installed and I run Opera 6, VNC viewer and server, XMMS, Kismet, ssh/scp, you name it.
Of course, you may be playing with the C700 clamshell series, lovely but only available in Japanese right now (English ROM hack available)
Dynamism always has the latest in the Zaurus line here in the US.
I'm with gabe, It was a great linux toy, but when I wanted it to be a rock solid PDA it wasn't. I sold it and got a Palm Tungsten, a rock solid PDA.
I just got the top of the line Zaurus. One feature about the 760 that just kills any other PDA next to a Palm. The battery life. I've used this thing continuosuly for a few days without having to charge it. Another point is that if you don't know any Japanese you're missing out on one of the best features of the 760. The built in dictionary AND handwriting recognition system for entering in kanji. I've been really wanting a small pocket sized system that i handwrite characters I want to lookup.
Hmm I was thinking of an O2 xda until I saw this Zaurus, now I'm starting to change my mind. It's quite a dinky little thing.
