I don't know why, but I've been so in the groove today that I managed to get more writing done in 4 hours than I have in the past 1.5 weeks.

So I'm taking a 2 hour break to reward myself. I'm cooking up some Teriyaki Salmon to go with my Heineken and blueberry muffin.

Oh, and I'm going to consume these while watching my unrated, wide screen Old School DVD. :-)

Yeay!

Now if I could only figure out what caused this overdue burst of productivity...

5/7/97: "When a programmer catches fire it's because he or she groks the system, its underlying truth has been revealed. I've seen this happen many times, a programmer languishes for months, chipping at the edges of a problem. Then all of a sudden, a breakthrough happens, the pieces start fitting together. A few months later the software works, and you go forward."

What was different between the theatre version of old school and the un-rated version?

Good question, Rob.

I'm not sure. I didn't notice any major differences.

As for getting in the groove, were there any environmental differences between this time and past instances? Did you find yourself shutting out thoughts of problems or stress in your life? Was it in your peak time of day?

All of those things have been responsible for getting into the flow at various times. Lately, though, my flow times have been related to my new Etymotic ER-6 Isolator ear phones. Seriously, these things block out the world.

Sounds like a good meal, especially the salmon. How was it?... And I've noticed you have been 'rewarded' a second and third time by being at the top of the list (again) on both 'Google search' and 'Yahoo! search' at the same time for June 22nd. Congrats!
