I'm really surprised at how widespread the reaction to my Top 10 Habits of Highly Annoying Bloggers post has been.

It has been turned into a survey, translated to Spanish and Japanese and commented on elsewhere.

Many, many of folks commenting on their own blogs have even changed their blogs a bit in response to my list. Others simply added to my list in the comments or on their own sites.

Wow.

Blogs rock. :-)

Yeah, hello from Mother Russia too. I've mentioned you too in my Russian blog (http://register.spectator.ru/26.02.2003/3).

You just have that kind of influence on us, Jeremy :)

I also added comments to my site; this required creating a new package for the OpenInteract application server my site runs on, but that's okay :-)

Jeremy, I love your blog, but ... add a freaking search! PLEASE! You use MT -- it's included!

I don't think it's included in the old, out of date version he uses :)

I have also updated my blog, I added a blogroll, and I didn't even know what one was until I read your top ten either!

Adding all the other stuff would involve programming so will have to just sit on my (lengthy) todo list.

RSS feeds might be fun, not seen a Java implementation yet, maybe I can "give something back" by offering up the source when I write it.

I have my blog on blogspot (I didn't want to put it on my own space because I'm upload-retarded) and have been told that I can't have an RSS feed there - I know that not having one automatically excludes me from being read by some people but I figure if they don't think I'm important enough to actually *visit* then I'm not concerned with them.

However, if someone can manage an RSS feed that us blogspot users can implement then I'd most likely use it, just as an extra little sumpthin'.

OK, so I saw a bandwagon come past and I jumped onto it. It's been a bit of a steep learning curve for me but I'm mostly on top of it now.

I added comments, permalinks (not mentioned, I know), a link to the RSS version and, additionally, did some modifications for disabled visitors and those with text-only browsers. I reckon this last to have been perhaps the most important.

I will be adding some Biog "About Us" pages when I've discussed it with the team.

I won't be adding a blogroll, though. I just don't like them. Sorry.

Mike...

PS Natalie; Look at http://www.voidstar.com/rssify.php for a non-BloggerPro way to get RSS onto your Blogspot site. Alternatively, pay for a Pro upgrade. :(
