Here are just a few bits I liked.
The history taught in our schools is scandalous. We grew up believing that Columbus actually discovered America. We still celebrate Columbus Day. Columbus was after one thing only - gold. As the natives were showering him with gifts and kindness, he wrote in his diary, "They do not bear arms ... They have no iron ... With 50 men we could subjugate them all and make them do whatever we want." Columbus is the perfect symbol of US foreign policy to this day.
Same old story. Must conquer. Modern business is the same way. Grow. Exploit. Profit. Repeat.
In a country that lauds its freedom of speech, a word of dissent can cost you your job.
Yeah, it's sad to see how many people have forgotten how to think--preferring to let the talking heads on the TV tell them what to believe.
I read in a paper here about a woman who held out the part of her taxes that would go to the war effort. Something like 17%. I like that idea, though in the US it would have to be more like 50%. If you consider money as a form of energy, then we see half our taxes and half the US government's energy focused on war and weapons of mass destruction. Over the past 30 years, this amounts to more than ten trillion dollars. Imagine that money going to preserving rainforest or contributing to a sustainable economy (as opposed to the dinosaur tit we are currently in the process of sucking dry).
Someday, somehow I hope we'll figure out how to elect someone that actually gives a shit about progress--for the whole planet, not just the bank accounts of his campaign donors.

come on dude... this guy hasn't taken anything but himself seriously (and even then that's a stretch) in a long while. I mean really... Woody Harelson for President?
Anyone that's been as stoned as he's been for the past 20 years can sound pretty smart, but do you really think he's got the intestinal fortitude to make the kinds of decisions that the President of the United States has to make?
I'm not saying the Bush is doing a great job, or that Clinton was perfect (or terrible for that matter) but Woody Harelson?

Woody's "dinosaur tit" is a sustainable, renewable form of energy -- at least for the next couple hundred years. If poeple like Woody Harrelson would get out of the way, maybe we could work on nuclear energy or other alternatives. The garbage you and Woody want us to use -- wind and methanol (from corn) -- are only sustainable business models when you throw in the MASSIVE government stipends that offset the high cost of maintenance (for wind) and processing (for methanol).
Go get your self a couple pots of coffee and try to wake up to reality.

Listen, I grew up in east european totalitarian country and the brainwashing they used to give to us (the people) was far more refined that the sh*t you'r own government gives you. I was in US recently and I was stuned - the people actually do beieve truly in the things they have been fed!
Guys, check out the euro/$ ratio (even though the euro economy is performing far worst in general), check out how much money you've been making the last couple of years and THEN think how good Bush is doing his job.
Get the facts.
Don't let the TV to tell you excuses and don't let the feeling that USA is the No.1 blind you. USA is the most powerful country, and it will be for the next century, or even beyond, that's unquestionable, but that isn't the most important thing for the average joe. The most important thing for the average joe is will he make enough money for a good living ... and that's it. Full stop.
I love woody I agree.people are just brainwashed with what they think is the truth.
We could easily and cheaply convert over to renewable fuel without gov. stipends if the appropriate modifications for our specific cars where produced. But that would require either cooperation(or original thought)or self-modifications. The car companies who own those patents, bought(stole) them to shelf them.
Ten (small & powerful)wind mills on a car make it a perpetual motion generator using $5 in gas(or corn oil)per year. Nuclear is obsolete and dangerous for our planet(which is our home)! Help end suppression tell everyone that 10 windmills on a car make a virtual perpetual motion machine. It's been done. Now it's done been supressed due to greed. So we have been forced to burn fosil fuels Which are not renewable or sustainable.
