If you find yourself on Google occasionally and would like "add to my web" links on the search results, I have a Greasemonkey script for you!
First, you need to be using Firefox. Second, you need to install Greasemonkey. Third, you need to install the google add to my web script. Then you should see "add to my web" links on every result listed in Google search results. That's all there is to it.
Inspired by Annotate Google, I hacked that little script together during the development and testing of My Web 2.0 (more: 1, 2, 3) but had forgotten about it until this morning. (Vacations tend to have that effect.)
A full screen shot is here. Oh, in case you're wondering, the boxed numbers in my results are a result of having the SearchKeys extension installed. I highly recommend that as well.

AFAIK, you don't need to wrap your code under an anonymous function anymore -- more recent versions (don't remember beginning which) take care of that.
It works well. Cool tool, Jeremy. The only thing I noticed was that the excluded pages list has the old Gmail URL (gmail.google.com rather than mail.google.com )

Remember that sometimes, very rarely, Google does not put the URL itself in the link, it puts a redirect via Google’s redirector in it. I assume they do this statistically so they can collect data on who clicks what. It would be annoying (at least to someone as anal as me) to have that redirect end up in one’s social bookmarking store.
You know that and I know that, but there are legions of people who seem to believe otherwise.
But, yeah. You're right. I sould fix that. Remind me what their redirector URLs look like...
Just letting you know that Opera 8 supports Greasemonkey scripts out of the box (no install necessary). In addition to Opera's own "User Javascripts" (not sure what the differences are).
Now we just need IE to start supporting Greasemonkey scripts as well. :o)
The script already has a google redirect remover because the original script had it.

In the spirit of competition, I thought it might be fun to offer the same functionality for del.icio.us. So I tweaked the Greasemonkey script to show a link to the right of each del.icio.us entry to send that info over to Yahoo's My Web 2.0 app.

How come you publish about a GreaseMonkey script to customize Google search results instead oy Yahoo's, if you are a Yahoo! employee?
Anyway, it's great. I personally prefer del.icio.us but this is great. In this respect, I am glad "Koby o" made available the equivalent for del.icio.us in his post above.
Nice script. People looking to get greasemonkey functionality for IE (v6 only right now) should check Turnabout...

Jeremy: heck if I can remember. It’s been so long I had to edit one out of my copypasted links – and I never paid a lot of attention. And of course it’s practically impossible to summon that condition for testing purposes…
John’s form in general is right, but I think they use a variant on that precise query in the search results, and doesn’t look exactly like that. But I could be wrong and they might be using that exact form. I wish I could remember.
I suppose checking the URL for whether it starts with http://www.google.com/url and picking the q parameter out of it if so should work well enough.
