In Random Mark says:
the commute is hellish, and the bureaucracy is staggering, but sometimes there's free cake.
Which, of course, made me think of Office Space. Which, of course, reminded me of TPS Reports. And then I remembered someone at work saying that TPS Reports were, in fact, real. Supposedly they came out of IBM culture.
Logically, then, since Mark now works at IBM, I had to wonder if Mark fills out TPS Reports.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? (Wonder about me, I'm betting...)

I think you need to come out here for another movie night. :-)
Has anybody ever come up with something clever for what TPS stands for?
I always thought they stood for Toilet Paper Sheets, but that's just me....
Apparently it's also:
Total Project Summary Report
Total Piece of Shit Report
Transaction Processing Schedules
Totally Pointless Stuff Report
Treatment Planning Software
Tax Performance System
Transaction Processing Systems
Tulsa Public Schools
TECO Power Services
Temporary Protected Status
Taunton Preparatory School
What's really scary is that Mark states openly that "I’m having my eyebrows waxed on a regular basis now." ;-)
I don't know what TPS reports are, but that doesn't mean someone won't come by my office tomorrow and ask why I haven't done mine yet.
Overheard:
"What are you doing?"
"Just wandering the halls, looking for trouble."
"Oh, we have a form for that."
We're putting new coversheets on all the TPS reports before now before they go out now. So I'd really appreciate it if you could just remember to do that. From now on.
