I recently came across one of the most amazing soaring locations: Torrey Pines. On the southern California cost, pilots fly up and down the beach thanks to the strong winds that often blow on shore. For a sample of what goes on, check out their on-line videos.

More information is available in the Southern California Soaring group's May 2003 newsletter.

Very Cool! Those videos are awesome. Can you imagine skimming the surf at 100+ knots and pulling back up over the ridge... that's a different kind of soaring altogether. Thanks finding those links Jeremy, now I just have to go to Torrey Pines!
