So damned hot. It's at least 100 degrees now.
I, like an idiot, saw the soaring forecast and couldn't resist going to fly for a bit before work (thus starting work late).
Bad move. I got really hot. And I never got to the "good lift" that others found. There are still gliders at 10,000 feet or more now. But I'm home. And hot. And pissed.
Time for a cold shower.

very hot indeed - i work at silicon valley power (the people in santa clara who generate electricity for santa clara businesses and residents) we trade, generate and sell electricity. We went above 408 megawatts usage today (per minute average use), usually we are around 340.
All due to everyone using the AC units ----
I bet your house was VERY warm indeed. I got home though, and my wife had every single drape and blind closed, and had the thermostat set at 78...which seemes VERY cool in comparision to outside.
I have 2 thermometers, one analog one digital, both are in the shade, and both read as of right now 104 degrees. - ouch -

You don't understand the greenhouse effect, do you? That big canopy, while providing a great view, also traps a lot of heat.
Holy crap man, I wish I had a job where I could just stop by the local airport to go on a quick fly. Hell, I'm lucky if I can make my lunch and still get to work on time! :)
Well,
It is going to be EVEN HOTTER today. Jeremy, time to crank on the fans all day long...maybe get some dry ice or a mister ....put them in front of a fan......
We are at a load of 358 MegaWatts (per min avg) and its only 932 am......can you say brownouts ?.....we think we will brak through 410 by noon, then it is anyones guess where it is going.
Take the day off, go hang out at the mall, its cooler.
better yet, go get a motel room for the night...they have AC :)
I know the residence inn by marriott have high speed internet :)

Yeah, this sucks. I'm up in SF right now, at WWDC, and even here, where it's usually cooler than down south, we're reaching the hundreds. You know it's too hot when you envy your Las Vegas friends for their cooler climate :)
Good soaring forecast = local airport?
No way, try the local mountain.
Are we talking Mission or Sled? Do you bring your glider to work?
