I can guess why. Look at the blog description: "Linux, Perl, MySQL, Open Source, and whatever other random stuff catches my interest...". If he starts talking about the war, it turns into a vent page and, somehow, the blog loses quality. I've lost interest in a few other blogs because they have diatribes where they used to have actual content.
