Oh, cool. According to Radio Free Blogistan, there's a weblog category in the Yahoo directory.

And wouldn't ya know it? Mine isn't listed. Yet. I happen to know how to add items to the directory. Perhaps I'll remedy that minor oversight. :-)

Is your blog missing? Let me know. Let's see how large we can make that category!

Hmm, I've been trying to get my blog listed on dmoz and categorized on Yahoo for awhile now. What's the trick? I'd settle for a listing tho. :)

Take care,

I'd be very happy to have an entry in Yahoo's Weblog category... if only for the Google juice a link from Yahoo would provide! This is sort of a dangerous offer... I can imagine you'll get inundated with emails soon!

Thanks!

... how about taking a peek over at www.blo.gs for a few more blogs to list...?

Why, thank you! I'd love a listing.

Does anyone have any ideas about a description for my weblog? And can anyone get anything but a 503 from it right now (9/27/02 2:51 PM EDT)?

On webhold with support chat right now,

John A

Sigh--that's what I get for trying to be fancy:

http://www.jzip.org/

And I'm not on hold anymore--but is that progress?

ME: My website, with domain name jzip.org, has been down for maintenance since early this morning, so I have two questions: How long will this maintenance go on, and why wasn't I notified beforehand?
SUPPORT: I apologize, but we are having some trouble with our web hosting servers at this time. Our engineers are aware and working on it.
ME: Oh, okay--it's unscheduled maintenance. That's okay--do you have an ETA?
SUPPORT: No I do not sorry.
ME: Ouch--that sounds like a very serious problem.
SUPPORT: Hopefully not.

Why do I think a problem that's lasted for about seven hours and has no ETA for resolution is probably a serious problem? Am I just a cynic or something?

Well, yes,

John A

Oh, jeez--it just gets worse:

ME: Well, good luck--and where do I call for information? Is there an option on the 800 number for outages like this?
SUPPORT: Can you dial up?
ME: Well, I'm online.

Sigh.

Well it would be amazing if you could get our trance charts blog into yahoo - it is quite popular already - despite our initial issues with updating.
