If I ever get the spare time (after the book?), I'll hack my Tivo to do this too.

How the hell did they get to that information? How'd they get the box on the network to query it? That's sweet either way.

That's too cool. I've got my TiVo networked and regularly telnet to it to rename shows and such. I played with TiVoWeb but since it runs on the TiVo itself I felt that would be too much of a load on the poor ol' TiVo. It's gotten so slow of late -- my theory is that because I've upgraded the drives it has too much indexing to do -- 240GB is a lot of space to keep indexed.

I'd love to get a peek at those cgi scripts. Coolness! :-)

OK, came accross this topic randomly when I was looking at how to do this with my tivo. I knew about hacking in the Network card into the Tivo, etc, but not about what SCRIPTS to use to show on my site. Well, for those asking what scripts, here ya go!

Also, to the guy who mentioned about how his Tivo is slowing down due to the upgraes, yes, it does that. 3 fixes for it though. 1> Buy a Series 2 :) 2> goto http://www.9thtee.com and get the memory addon. Or preferably 3> goto 9thtee and buy the Cachecard. I WANT THAT. Can't wait for shipping to begin again. It basically lets you throw a ram chip (like for example a 512mb) and use that to speed up the indexing, menus and display, etc, etc.
