	• Web apps – Use (but don’t over-use) connection pooling – Use middleware to abstract the database • May also provide caching and pooling – Don’t keep everything in the database! • Images can live on the file system • But you might want to replicate them – Pick the fastest driver you can • Java has several, Perl has two • On Windows, use the “most native”
