Well, this just plain sucks. We been royally crapped on so far this year when it comes to snow. In fact, I was sent home from work early today (Jan 13th, 1999) because three counties, including mine, declared level 3 snow emergencies.
I've spent way too long shoveling my driveway recently. Here are some pictures now that I just finished. Since there's not much of a frame of reference for these, the descriptions below try to give you an idea of just how deep it is.

Above: Evidence of the 3-foot wall of snow the city snow plow morons left at the end of my driveway this morning. What a pain in the ass. I spent 30 minutes digging a hole in it so that I could get to work. (The pile is about 5 feet tall in this picture.) |
Above: A view of the end of the driveway. You can see the big pile on the left and a similarly large one on the right. Sure makes it hard to turn into the driveway at any reasonable speed. |
